SKW vs BA 0 - 1 Bryan Bantam scored the solitary goal of the match.
The young SKW delivered a brave fight against a star studded BA side. SKW stood firm till the 80 min when Bryan Bantam converted a Willy Stephanus' corner. Bantam who didn't have his best day was left unmarked on the near post when he headed home. The halftime score was 0-0. SKW had a major chance two minutes before the end when SKW best player of the day Barnes Lisaku blasted the ball over the cross bar. The best first half chance was when SKW's new signing Elvis Tjiueza missed narrowly when his header went just over the crossbar in the 25th minute. Next SKW will travel to the coast to play Blue Waters in Walvisbay.

A doubtful penalty goal two minutes from time gave Ramblers a share of the spoils in 1-1 draw against SKW on Friday night.
SKW would have secured a victory after a great individual goal by Simeon Tjiueza on 62min, but Mboma Nailonga equalised for Ramblers from the penalty spot after a doubtful decision with two minutes to go. SKW did most of the attacking and were the better team of the night but their finishing let them down.

SKW beat Hotspurs 3-0 in an MTC Premiership match on Sunday afternoon to move up to seventh position on the log.
Simeon Tjiueza opened the scoring with a great individual goal on 15m, while Panduleni Nekundi added two more in quick succession after the break. Hotspurs’ chances of victory however suffered a severe blow when they were reduced to 10 men after only 33 minutes when Petrus Gideon was sent off for a foul. SKW took the lead on 15m when they won a corner and the ball was cleared to Tjiueza who struck home a spectacular volley from the edge of the box. SKW created more chances through Theunny Thomas, Joslin Kamatuka and Elias Lisaku, and Tjiueza once again came close when his header was tipped over for a corner. The match turned into SKW’s favour with Gideon’s dismissal after 33m, but Hotspurs fought back well in the second half despite being a man down. Substitute Gomes Casanova made a big impact with his strong runs from the midfield, while John Schultz was also effective, but their finishing was poor. But SKW’s advantage told in the final quarter when substitute striker Panduleni Nekundi scored two goals within three minutes from quick counterattacks. The result saw SKW moving up to seventh position on the log on 5 points, while Hotspurs remain second last on one point.
Black Africa beat Stars to go top - 15/10/2011
Black Africa opened up a three-point lead at the top of the MTC Premiership log after beating former leaders African Stars 1-0 on Saturday. In a pulsating derby at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium Marco van Wyk scored the winning goal six minutes into the second half when he struck home a cross by Jerome Louis that went in off the upright. Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities that had the 4 000-strong crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the encounter.
All three Tigers’ goals were scored within seven minutes of each other, midway through the first half. Their goalscorers were Pineas Jacob, Marvin Mbakera and Benson Shilongo.
At the SKW field Orlando Pirates and Civics played to a 1-1 draw. Johannes Seibeb gave Pirates the lead when he converted a penalty on 21m after Civics defender Penias Nzeve handled in the box. Civics however grabbed a share of the spoils when their young substitute Fritaria van Wyk equalised late in the second half.
At the Ramblers field, Ramblers beat Eleven Arrows 2-0 after goals by Larry Horaeb and Alfred Ndyenge.
At the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo, Mighty Gunners beat United Stars 2-0 with striker Harold Ochurub scoring both their goals

Martin Kambungu scored from the penalty spot to give SKW a 1-0 victory against Orlando Pirates on Friday night.
SKW won the penalty after striker Panduleni “Kaka” Nekundi was fouled in the box and Kambungu made no mistake with his spot kick, sending Pirates’ keeper Helmut Maletsky the wrong way.
Nekundi came close for SKW early on when he headed against the bar from a Theunny Thomas cross, while at the other end, SKW keeper Charles Uirab punched clear a cracking shot by Engelhard Kahua.
SKW caught Pirates with a quick counterattack on 53min that led to Nekundi being fouled in the box. Kambungu made no mistake with his spot kick to give SKW the lead. SKW nearly had a second goal when Nekundi put Henry Somseb clear on goal, but with only Maletsky to beat, Somseb shot wide of the target. The result sees SKW temporarily moving up to third spot on 11 points, while Pirates remain eighth on 6 points.

Tigers however equalised after a poor goal keeper clearance, through a goal by Benson Shilongo, who cut inside his defender to score at the near post. Panduleni Nekundi was named player of the match while Burundian defender Charles Hakizimana had a horrible match. In a brief press conference after the match the committee said: "if the boy doesn't increase his performance we will have no other option than releasing the poor performing player"!

African Stars suffered their second successive defeat when they went down 1-0 to SKW at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night. Striker Panduleni Nekundi scored the winner for SKW with a great solo goal 5m into the second half and although they had several chances to score, Stars could not capitalise. The result sees SKW joining second placed African Stars on 16 points, but they are now trailing the leaders Black Africa by seven points.
Both sides put in some hard tackles while Stars’ Jamu Ngatjizeko and SKW’s Edy Mangoumou being involved in a tough midfield battle. On 35m SKW keeper Charles Uirab brought off two saves in quick succession, when he parried a shot by Edwin Korukuve and then saved a header by Rudi Louw. A minute later Korukuve headed against the crossbar from a Rudi Louw freekick and on 39m Edison Muheua shot narrowly wide of goals. But SKW held out and Stars suffered a blow just before halftime when Muna Katupose limped off with a pulled hamstring. SKW took the lead on 50m through a great goal by Panduleni Nekundi. He won possession in the centre of the park and went on a great solo run, beating Stars defence to slam the ball past Stars’ keeper Heinrich Kazerua into the back of the net. Stars came back and substitute striker Tara Katupose nearly scored from a Freedom Puriza cross but his header was tipped for a corner by Uirab. Katupose once again came close with a long range shot, while Uirab pulled off a fine save from Katupose with 10m to go. But they could not find the target and SKW held on for a memorable win to set off jubilant celebrations by SKW’ players at the final whistle.

SKW went second on the log after beating United Stars 2-0 in Windhoek on Saturday. Joslin Kamatuka opened their account shortly before halftime while Elvis Tjivasera headed in their second goal from a corner, on 78m. The result sees SKW moving up to 19 points after 10 matches, but they are now seven points behind log leaders Black Africa. United Stars meanwhile stay bottom of the log on two points and they are still in search of their first win of the season.
Civics missed a great opportunity to go second when they stumbled to a 1-0 defeat against Mighty Gunners at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium. Gunners’ prolific striker Harold Ochurub scored the winning goal midway through the second half with a tame looking shot, but Civics keeper Esau Tjiouro stumbled over his own feet and the ball rolled into the left hand corner of the net. Civics now remain in joint fourth position on 17 points along with Ramblers and African Stars. Ramblers did well to beat Blue Waters 1-0 at the Ramblers field, after they had to play with 10 men for most of the match. Larry Horaeb was sent off after picking up his second yellow card after only 23 minutes. Ramblers however took the lead from a penalty by Emilio Martin 5m later and despite being a man down managed to hold on to their lead till the end. Eleven Arrows’ new coach Woody Jacobs got off to a promising start as they managed to salvage a point in a 0-0 draw against African Stars in Walvis Bay. Arrows are now third last on the log on three points, while Stars are tied with Civics and Ramblers on 17 points. Tigers are third on 18 points after they drew 1-1 against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night. Johannes Seibeb put Pirates ahead on 30m but Tigers equalised on 79m through a freekick by Willem Mwedihanga that deflected off the wall. On Friday night Black Africa stretched their lead at the top of the log with a 3-1 victory against Hotspurs. Hotspurs took the lead through Richard Kavendji on 30m, but Klaas Blom equalised for BA on 56m. In the final stages BA however secured their victory after an own goal by Hotspurs defender George Tsamaseb and a great freekick by captain Hartman Toromba.

SKW had an easy match against a very young Namibian side. This is an opponent were you can see if the system is working because the Namibian boys all can play very good football. The difference came in on the physical side were our SKW NPL boys are just stronger. But it's something else than always playing against other NPL sides, while most lower division teams are not capable sticking to organized systems. Back in the SKW squad was striker 'Kaka' Penduleni. His trials in SA didn't realize due to several hick up's. SKW will meet title contenders Black Africa in the first second round match next week.

NPL coaches Lesley Kakuva and Martin Brosda seemed to be satisfied with the all over performance of their team.
Local soccer lovers are already in for limited action this season as it seems unlikely that the NFA Cup will be played this year. Mobile operator Leo, who sponsored the NFA Cup for the past three seasons, already announced their termination at the end of last season, more than six months ago, but since then a new sponsor has not been found. Doeseb said they were still waiting for communication from the NFA but it seemed unlikely that a sponsor will be found. “We don’t have a sponsor yet, but we are awaiting communication from the NFA, to find out what will happen.” “It will not be good for Namibian soccer if we cannot stage our FA Cup. I’d like to call on Namibian corporate companies to come on board to sponsor the NFA Cup because there is still time to stage it this season,” he said. Doeseb, the former owner of Eleven Arrows who won the NFA Cup last season, said they would like to defend their title. “As the champions, Eleven Arrows would like to defend the title. We can still find a solution if we get a sponsor, but I know that the NFA secretary general Barry Rukoro is looking at solutions” he said.

Namibia Premier League chairman JJ Doeseb told Namibia Sport that several stadiums had been booked out for school athletics events on January 28 and that Round 12 of the league will now only kick off on Friday, February 3. “Some schools have booked stadiums for athletics so we will now start the second round on February 3. They booked for the whole day so we did not have an alternative,” he said. Doeseb added that the Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay had been booked out for several weeks with the result that some matches at the coast would now have to take place on Sundays. “The start of the league will only be postponed for one week, but we will have to play some matches on Sundays now, especially in Walvis Bay, because of the athletics” he said.

Twice a day training, that's what Lesley Kakuva and Martin Brosda, the SKW coaches ordered the players. After some 10km endurance running's, it was yesterday uphill endurance running (photo). 25 players are currently attending while 4 players are on trial for the next week. The spirit and the attitude are very good assistant coach Brosda confirmed SKW News yesterday. Saturday there will be a first test against Civics which will be used to test some new faces and to gain match practice.
